This is the first official GEWIS-song. On December 8 1982 the first General Meeting of GEWIS took place. At the end of this meeting a songfestival was organized at They and Ontij, where this song, named "Iedere echte mathemaat" was elected out of 12 contributions. Thanks to the hard work of the Lustrum Committee 2002 we have been able to recover the text of this song. It was sung at the melody of the song "Lily Marleen" from 1938. It has been performed by Lou Bandy and others. Marianne Kerkhof came up with the text.
