Job title:

Intern: Phantom-based verification and validation for Image Guided Therapy

Propose optimized methodologies for using appropriate phantoms instead of clinical data for verification and validation.

Your role:

Image guided therapy (IGT) systems are used to treat patients in diverse clinical procedures (coronary, vascular, neurology, oncology, cardiac, lung). Philips IGT offers a variety of software applications to support physicians in getting the best outcomes for our patients. These software applications need to fulfill requirements that are often verified and validated using phantom and clinical data. Currently, there is a huge dependency on clinical data for verification and validation purposes of the medical devices.

You will play a role in identifying applicable phantoms suitable for clinical procedures; creating methodologies optimizing the usage of different phantoms for both verification and validation processes; as well as ensuring developed approaches meet clinicians needs and regulatory requirements and thereby are safe and effective.

You will be part of the Verification & Validation team of the Image Guided Therapy (IGT) clinical application team. You will interact with a cross functional project team, consisting of among others clinical marketing, system design, software development.

This internship will give you the opportunity to learn about the Philips Image Guided Therapy organization and its different roles.

You're the right fit if:

MSc student in the areas of Biomedical Engineering/Science, Technical Medicine, Applied Physics, Medical Physics, or similar Affinity with Healthcare Innovation, Medical Imaging, Research Methodologies, Medical Data management, Testing

Your skills include excellent writing in English, communication and collaboration.

You are available for at least 6 months.
